Bandittude is an eclectic all female live band exploring the Afro, Highlife and Funk inspired genres of music. Loc Lagos, Nigeria, they draw inspiration from the work of artists/bands like The Compozers, Alternate sound, Kool and the gang, and The hooligans. The band’s sound is mostly original arrangements composed by the music director Nonso Godwin - a Composer, singer and performer. The band also performs as a backup band for other artists.
Bandittude was fo August 2019 by Morenike Oyewole to create a platform that allows, inspires and encourages women to pursue, explore and achieve their potential to the fullest. The band aims to inspire women and girls around the world as they contribute to the Girl Power movement, using music as a tool.
Within a few months since inception, The band has staged Valerie con collaboration with Freedom Park Lagos for the 2019 International Day of the girl child, played at the Felabration concert and at the Celebration of Amazons event at the Ikoyi Club, the I Am Amazon concert, the 2020 International Womens day event by La Sports International among others.
We currently record Band Attack Sessions where they remix, rearrange and reharmonize popular songs while also working on their 7 track EP titled Emergence. Bandittude is known for Original Arrangements, Covers and Repertoire. We are also known for Keeping the audience amazed on it’s feet at concerts and other events.
